Stand 29. September 2026 – Systematik bis zur Gattungsebene

Die folgende Übersicht orientiert sich zunächst an der weiterhin vielfach verwendeten morphologisch begründeten Gliederung der Eriophyoidea in drei Familien: Phytoptidae, Eriophyidae und Diptilomiopidae. Neuere molekulare Untersuchungen zeigen jedoch, dass insbesondere die traditionellen Familien Eriophyidae und Diptilomiopidae nicht in allen Analysen monophyletisch sind. Die Seite wird deshalb bewusst mit Anmerkungen zu solchen offenen Fragen geführt.

        Gattungsstatus:

        Novophytoptus ist die einzige Gattung der Unterfamilie Novophytoptinae.

        Biologie:

        Die Gattung lebt endoparasitisch in subepidermalen Interzellularräumen bzw. Luftkammern krautiger Monokotyledonen der Ordnung Poales; als Wirtsfamilien sind Cyperaceae, Juncaceae und Poaceae bekannt.

        Besonderheiten:

        Die Tiere besitzen einen stark verlängerten, wurmförmigen Körper und eine ungewöhnlich weit nach hinten verlagerte Genitalregion. Mehrere Merkmale des Gnathosomas und der Beine sind innerhalb der Eriophyoidea ungewöhnlich.

        Systematische Anmerkung:

        Die monogenerische Unterfamilie Novophytoptinae wird in der morphologisch geprägten Systematik weiterhin innerhalb der Phytoptidae geführt. Molekulare Untersuchungen bestätigen die Eigenständigkeit der Gattung teilweise, stellen jedoch die traditionelle Abgrenzung der phytoptiden Unterfamilien insgesamt infrage. Die genaue Stellung von Novophytoptus innerhalb der Phytoptidae bleibt daher Gegenstand phylogenetischer Untersuchungen. (1)

        Stand 2026: Duarte et al. (2026) geben für Acaricalini eine aktualisierte Weltübersicht mit 36 Gattungen und einen neuen Bestimmungsschlüssel. Die drei 2026 neu behandelten Gattungen Assamacarus, Nasuchusmoraesia und Roychakrabartia sind in die Gattungsliste eingearbeitet. Die Autoren weisen zugleich auf Unsicherheiten einzelner morphologischer Gattungsmerkmale und weiteren Revisionsbedarf hin.

        Abgrenzung: Neocaphylla Huang & Xue, 2025 ist eine neu beschriebene Gattung, die im Welt-Schlüssel von Duarte et al. (2026) nicht als eigene Acaricalini-Gattung behandelt wird. Sie wird deshalb außerhalb der 36er-Acaricalini-Liste unter den derzeit nicht sicher einer Tribus zugeordneten Phyllocoptinae geführt.

        Aktueller Status: Ripka (2011) errichtete Adventacarini ausdrücklich als neue Tribus für Adventacarus. In der aktuellen NCBI-Taxonomie wird Adventacarini jedoch weiterhin ohne zugeordnetes Genus geführt („unclassified Adventacarini“), und die höherstufige Phylogenomik von Zhang et al. (2024) behandelt Adventacarini als eine der Gruppen, deren Stellung künftig weiter untersucht werden soll. Daher wird die Tribus hier als historisch vorgeschlagene, aktuell phylogenetisch nicht gesicherte Einheit geführt; Adventacarus wird nicht als molekular bestätigte Phyllocoptinae-Tribusposition dargestellt.
