General information

This Privacy Policy explains to visitors of my website the nature, scope and purposes of the collection and use of personal data by me as the website operator. I take the protection of your personal data seriously and handle it confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy may be updated as new technologies are introduced and the website continues to develop. I therefore recommend reviewing it periodically. Definitions of terms used in this policy (such as “personal data” and “processing”) can be found in Article 4 GDPR.

Access data

When you access this website, access and error log files may be generated on the web server. According to the information currently stated in this Privacy Policy, these logs may record the page visited, the time of access, the volume of data transferred, the referring source, the browser and operating system used, and the IP address. The IP address is stated to be anonymised after 24 hours, and the log file deleted after no more than 7 days. The stated purposes are operating and securing the server. Whether and to what extent the hosting provider processes its own log data depends on its actual configuration and the information it provides.

Cookies

The PHP files provided do not indicate the use of cookies for reach measurement or usage statistics. The PHP session used by the contact form may use technically necessary session cookies, for example to manage form data, CSRF protection and the form status during the session. These cookies support the function expressly requested by the user. The storage of information on, or access to information stored on, a user device is governed by Section 25 TDDDG; the exceptions provided there, particularly for operations that are strictly necessary, remain relevant. Section 25 TDDDG is a provision of German law. The linked statutory text is in German. Where personal data is processed, this must also have a legal basis under Article 6 GDPR. Whether the website or any embedded services set additional cookies should be checked against the pages actually delivered.

Contact

If you use the contact form, the required fields—surname, first name, email address, subject and message—are processed. Providing a website address is optional. You may also optionally submit an image file in JPG, PNG or WEBP format, up to 3 MB in size. The information is used to handle and respond to your enquiry and, where necessary, to follow up with you. The form uses a PHP session, among other things, to maintain the form status and help prevent abusive submissions. To limit repeated submissions, the script stores IP addresses with timestamps and may temporarily block an IP address after too many submissions. The email sent to the website operator also contains the IP address and browser identifier (User-Agent). An uploaded image is stored in the “uploads” directory and embedded in the email as well as attached to it. No specific retention period for enquiries or image files is stated here; this should be determined and implemented in accordance with actual practices. The data is processed to respond to your enquiry. Depending on the nature of the enquiry, the legal basis may in particular be Article 6(1)(b) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
